Meet The Face Behind Images by Robert

I’m Robert Schindelheim, the proud owner of Images by Robert.

I look forward to sharing my story. I hope that you will enjoy getting to know me better.

My enthusiasm for photography began at a very tender age while watching my dear uncle, who was an accomplished photographer. I would carefully cart around his gear while he shot on location. It was an era with no delete button, so you had to click correctly the first time.

The experience taught me discipline, and later, when I upped sticks and moved from Argentina to Canada, I carried vital lessons with me. As I set about exploring my new surroundings, I soon found that my adopted home was mesmerizing and became my muse.

As my artistic inspiration grew, I wanted to become a professional, so I enrolled for a range of creative courses by renowned photographers such as Lindsy Adler, Ron Clifford, and Gavin Hoey. I later completed a two-year program at the prestigious, Arcanum, which prepared me well.

After four years of working for others, I was ready to shoot for the stars. I invested in a state of the art studio and filled it with the best equipment money could buy. While it took some time to build my reputation, eight years on, I am still going strong and have a consistent stream of clients.

Photographing people is what makes me tick as I love watching the excited client expressions after the final images are delivered. I always choose quality over quantity, when selecting photos, and I believe my punctuality and honesty is what sets me apart.

I am known for my no-nonsense approach of sitting down with my prospective clients and interviewing them, to understand their unique personality. This exercise prepares me for a session that will capture a person’s heart, soul, and feelings, along with his or her image.

This method makes it an empowering experience for my clients and a fun day for all involved. My projects include engagements, headshots, and portraits, but wedding assignments give me the most satisfaction, as I’m able to capture candid moments, which will be treasured for generations. 

When I am not photographing clients, I travel to other countries to shoot. A lot of these framed images are available at Fine Art America, where I am a proud member. I am also inspired by the models that I photograph and keenly stay in shape with regular trips to the gym.
